December 20, 2024I love Brooks shoes. I wear Adrenaline and Ghost models for walking. I'm in my mid-70s and do not use these shoes for running. These shoes offer incredible comfort and stability, and they look great, too! Also, when I find a Brooks shoe on sale in a color I like, I buy it. At present, I have several pairs of new Brooks shoes in my closet that I haven't yet worn (still in original boxes). My favorite shoe colors are black with white soles and trim, or black with a bit of bright color accent, such as magenta or red or purple. I really like shoes with red soles. Anyway, I've been wearing Brooks shoes for many years and only wear them for walking (mostly on city sidewalks and streets) or just for casual everyday wear. The only problem I've had with Brooks shoes is that the sole always wears out much too quickly. I wish the shoe designers would specify a more durable material for the sole of Brooks shoes that would last a bit longer and stay grippy. It always feels wasteful to toss out a shoe with perfectly good uppers and a sole that has worn flat (especially when a shoe is one of my favorite colors that will never be available again...).
Beautiful shoes/disappointed with info Regarding fit

November 7, 2024I have worn Brooks glycerin running shoes for years and have loved them. Recently, I decided to order new running shoes and because I am getting older I decided to get the adrenaline which have more support. I checked the website to see if I needed to order a different size since I was ordering a different style. From what I read on the site, I would need the same size that I had been In the glycerin shoe.
The day my new shoes arrived. I was headed out the door to run errands and decided to wear my new shoes. I immediately thought they looked a little longer but checked the size and they were the same size I always get. I wore them for a couple of hours and realized that they were definitely too long. And since I had worn them half the day, I realized that I would not be able to return them. I’m obviously disappointed and wish I had not just taken the word of the website and been more careful about making sure they fit perfectly before actually wearing them.😩
I believe anyone changing from glycerin to adrenaline running shoes should probably get a half size smaller. That’s my experience anyway.
Loft cushioning breaks down at 8 month

May 27, 2024I’ve been an Adrenaline GTS fan for over 5 years. I pronate so I need the stabilization and I’m heavy (~250 lbs) so I need the support. Usually I get a pair every year as my everyday walking shoe. (I wear Ariel’s for running). Since I only wear them for walking, just normal running errands and such, they usually last at least a year.
As much as I loved the v23, the new loft cushioning they’re using does not hold up. I bought my current v23 pair late last summer (late July/August) and the inside sole cushion felt significantly compressed down by early March. I started having to pull the laces much tighter because there is noticeably more room inside the shoe since the sole is thinned down. I kept wearing them thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s gotten progressively worse (sole is even more compressed). Now if I wear them walking in May my feet are sore the next day. My arches especially ache after a few hours of sedate walking.
I’m going to buy another pair of v23 because they were great for the first ~8 months. But if you expect everyday walking around shoes to make it 11-12 months the v23 may disappoint.

December 16, 2024I am not a runner and will never be a runner. I wanted an athletic shoe that does not irritate my neuropathy. These do an adequate job; not outstanding but OK. Also wanted a shoe with a lot of support b/c I am in the geriatric part of life and falls are an ever-present threat. I think these shoes provide this support. When the neuropathy and arthritis are behaving themselves, I am able to take walks in these shoes and everything is fine. One BIG drawback, especially b/c of fall threat is that the laces do not stay tied. I have no idea why they come loose but they do, OFTEN. I know, I know double knots. When YOU get old and have arthritis in YOUR back, you tell me how easy it is to deal with double knots in your shoes, both putting them on and taking them off. Sometimes they are just not worth the trouble and my old worn-out Nikes get pulled out of the closet.
Quite honestly, I would hesitate to recommend these shoes b/c of this. I would hate for someone to fall b/c the laces came undone.
I am not answering the rest of your questions and have no intention of giving this review a name. (Do we really need to get cutesy? I thought you were interested in feedback)
