Spanish support for the territorial integrity of Morocco, a historic turning point (Paraguayan expert)
Asuncion – Spanish support for the territorial integrity of Morocco, reiterated by the President of the Government Pedro Sanchez on the occasion of his visit Wednesday to Rabat, is a new geopolitical situation with historical dimensions, affirmed the Paraguayan writer and historian, Luis Aguero Wagner, in a statement to MAP.
In terms of foreign policy, Morocco constitutes “an absolute priority” for Spain with which the Kingdom maintains ancestral political and cultural ties, added this professor of history at the Institute of the Air Force of Paraguay and author of a book on the Moroccan Sahara.
To this end, he underlined the high significance of this visit, the first of Mr. Sanchez to Morocco after starting a new mandate at the head of the Spanish government.
The President of the Spanish Government made a working visit to Morocco on Wednesday, marked by the audience granted to him by HM King Mohammed VI.
The royal audience granted to Mr. Sanchez was an opportunity to reiterate Spain’s position, contained in the Joint Declaration of April 2022, considering the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as “the most serious, realistic basis and credible” for the settlement of the conflict around the Moroccan Sahara.
