Description

PET RESTRAINING HARNESS FOR VEHICLES
The present report of Patent of Invention refers to a new "SELF- COMPENSATORY ASSEMBLY OF VEHICULAR EFFORTS FOR
ANIMALS OF SMALL SIZE", especially of a assembly to protect small animals, as, for instance, dogs and third parties, of impacts of automotive vehicles, composed by vest projected in accordance with the anthropometry of the animal in subject, annulling the resultants of the impact in the triangle of bony resistance, which is associated to an absorber of energy device calibrated for reduced weights, avoiding larger damages to the animal and third parties inside the vehicle.
It is known by the technicians in the matter that in an automobile impact the dynamic load is potentiated in about 20 times the weight to a speed of 50 Km/h. It means that an animal with 10kg of weight inside a vehicle, in the case of an impact, will result in a dynamic force of about 200kg. In that way, all. the force generated in an impact is transferred for any occupant or object inside the vehicle. For that reason it is determined by Law that any occupants or objects inside of the vehicle should be fixed, including the pet. In the case of the occupants, the seatbelt is used, which has as main purpose to absorb the load generated in the impact with the minimum damage to the occupants properly said. For so much the belts have deformed components, absorbents of energy.
However, pets, for having reduced weight, regarding the human beings for the ones which the conventional seat-belts were projected, in an impact situation, do not generate enough energy to become the conventional belts effective, so much in deformation terms as in ergonomic terms.
In the current state of the technique, the existent seat-belts for small animals can be described according to the documents below:
MU 8202905-9 - "Dog Seat-belt", notedly of a belt having means to be adapted, by your frontal and rear girdle, to the body of the animal, "dressing it"; said belt receives by its passer the original seat-belt, in order to immobilize the animal on the rear seat of the vehicle. This patent has as main inconvenient the fact of doing not have its conformation projected with focus in anthropometry of the animal, so that the loads resultant of a possible impact are distributed aimlessly in the body of the animal. On the other hand, the fact of this belt be directly fastened to the original belt, as, already commented, does not have capacity of being effective in animals of reduced weight.
PI 0204532-0 "System for Animals Transportation in Automotive Vehicle" is comprehended by a box of a module kind, closed frontally by an inclinable door for the confinement of the animal, containing metallic frame of support in its interior, which remains coupled and fixed in the tubular structure by belts passed over side by side of the box; said assembly is supported on the seat and fixed to the seat-belt of the vehicle. That system besides being too much complex and of difficult handling, also is fixed to the original seat-belt of the vehicle, elapsing for the same kind of technical deficiency above mentioned (impact absorption of animal of reduced corporeal weight). PI 0301772-9 "Vehicular Seat-belt for Animals" is comprehended by one central piece with superior face of bi-angular shape, having orifices to which ones are fixed two handles of plotted and resistant fabric, having in the extremities metallic rings to be linked to the stems of the head support of the vehicle, and the inferior portion of the central piece has one internal hollow, which communicates with the external part by means of a small opening situated in the right side of the piece, by which is inserted the third plotted ribbon, of similar material to other two already cited handles, having a piece that allows to shorten or to increase its length, and in its free extremity there is a small hook for joining to the collar of the animal. That patent request does not present any preoccupation with the anthropometry of the animal, besides being anchored in the stems of the head support of the vehicles that does not present any absorbent of energy system. With objective of solving such inconvenient, it developed the present self-compensatory assembly, with which the animal remains involved by a vest carefully projected to absorb possible impacts in the more resistant parts of its skeleton, distributed in three points of the same, generating what is technically denominated resistance triangle of the animal bony structure. In complement, the referred self-compensatory assembly has an absorber of energy device calibrated for reduced weights, appropriated for pets.
The self-compensatory assembly presents as main advantages:
• Fast and efficient application;
• Simplified adjustment for a larger range of sizes; • Correct load distribution;
• Self-compensatory sliding rings.
The invention could be better comprehended by means of the following detailed description, in consonance with the attached drawings, where are represented of a illustrative and not limiting way: Figure 1 : View in perspective of the self-compensatory assembly of vehicular efforts for animals of small size;
Figure 2: View in exploded perspective of the self-compensatory assembly of vehicular efforts for animals of small size;
Figure 3: View in perspective of the self-compensatory assembly of vehicular efforts for animals of small size, showing the use with detail of the resistance triangle and sliding rings of self-compensation;
Figure 4: Detail in perspective of the self-compensatory assembly of vehicular efforts for animals of small size, showing points of superior adjustment and guide anchorage;
Figure 5: Detail in perspective of the self-compensatory assembly of vehicular efforts for animals of small size, showing inferior anchorage;
Figure 6: View in perspective of the deformable device; Figure 7: Anthropometric lateral view of a dog, showing the resistance triangle.
The "SELF-COMPENSATORY ASSEMBLY OF VEHICULAR
EFFORTS FOR ANIMALS OF SMALL SIZE", notedly of an assembly (C) formed by vest (1) and mechanical device (2) absorbent of energy calibrated to act with reduced weights, small animals, in which the vest (1) properly said was strictly projected following the animal anthropometry, whose self-compensatory sliding and of adjustment rings (3, 4 and 5) are located in the points (3 A, 4A and
5A) of larger resistance of the skeleton, the vest (1) are properly connected to the original seat-belt by means of the mechanic device (2) whose plate (6) is calibrated to act with reduced loads.
More particularly, the vest (1) is formed starting from three sliding rings (3, 4 and 5) of self-compensation properly positioned in conformity with the triangle of bony resistance of the represented animal by points (3 A, 4 A and 5A). From the ring (3), they derive a pair of lateral bands (7), forming an inverted "V" in direction to the frontal ring (4) as well as in direction to the ring inferior (5), and of this last one, the referred band originate an additional band (8) in direction to the overlapped rings (9 and 10) linked by means of ribbon (1 1) to the ring (3), which receives a hook (12) destined to receive the guide (not represented). The rings (9 and 10) accomplish the two adjustment points of the band (8), as well as the inferior band equally adjustable, therefore adapting with extreme easiness to any animal size.
Complementing the present request, the vest (1) is connected to the vehicular seat-belt (not represented) by means of a device (2) absorbent of energy whose plate (6) is calibrated to act by means of user of reduced weight, as, for instance, a pet, thus adapting the original seat-belt for such load, connecting the ring (14) and the handle (15) harnessed to the hook (12), such plate still owns rips (16) for insertion of the ribbon (17) of connection.
